GLOBAL GRANT #2120240: Isolation Room for Covid-19 Patients

  • This Global Grant was awarded to the club in partnership with the Rotary Club of Sae-Namhae D3590, South Korea to install an isolation operating room (also called negative pressure operating room) for COVID–19 patients at Veteran’s Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).

The project aims to renovate an existing operating room at Veterans Memorial Medical Center to:

1. provide an operating room exclusively for Covid-positive, Covid-probable, and suspect patients;

2. ensure safety of our healthcare personnel and patients undergoing surgery, because with the negative pressure setting, HEPA or ULPA filter and UV light, the egress of contaminated air will be diminished or eliminated, filtered and sterilized; and

3. isolate Covid-positive, suspect, and probable patients so they will not contaminate other healthcare workers and non-Covid patients.Health Department to fight, contain, and prevent dengue cases.
