After being approved by the Rotary Foundation last January 24, 2018, the Global Grant Project 1865860: Laparoscopy Equipment worth USD 92,000 was finally turned over to the Bicol Medical Center last March 16, 2018. The materialization of the project was made possible through the efforts and collaboration of the Rotary Club of Naga, Rotary Club of New Central Taipei (D-3522), Rotary Club of Timog (D3780) and Rotary Club of Selkirk thru The Rotary Foundation.

It was the aim of the clubs to furnish the Bicol Medical Center with a state of the art Laparoscopic machine that will provide minimal invasive surgery to around 600,000 patients of Bicol Medical Center at a minimal cost and a shorter recovery period.

The availability of such machine shall bear opportunities to train and further enhance the skills of surgeons, clinicians and other staff of the Bicol Medical Center and largely benefit not only the residents of Naga but of Bicol Region and its neighboring areas.
