TULONG DUNONG: 30 YEARS AFTER (1993-2023)
STORYTELLING AND DONATION OF STORYBOOKS AT BARANGKA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (BES)
The Rotary Club of Timog – Quezon City in partnership with Ateneo de Manila High School batch 93, batch 96, and AITSA – Asian Institute of Technology, Sciences and the Arts (AITSA), donated 160 new storybooks to the school library of Barangka Elementary School in Marikina City and gave food packs with vitamin C to pre-school students and faculty.
It is sort of a homecoming for HCP Jigs and classmates as they read stories to the delight of the kids. Barangka was the grade school assigned to the class (section) of HCP Jigs back in 1993 where they tutored grade 6 students under Fr. James O’Brien, SJ. Now, and after 30 years, they are back to serve the community.
This program at Barangka shall be continued for the rest of the year with the signing of the MOU with the school principal. RC Timog, Ateneo High School, and AITSA are committed to help in the development of students to improve basic education literacy, which has become a very serious problem.
