Area of Focus: Disease Prevention and Treatment
RC TIMOG’S SECOND MEDICAL AND DENTAL MISSION
On September 2, 2023, The Rotary Club of Timog held its second medical mission for RY2023-24 at the Carreon Aguirre Village, Novaliches, Quezon City.
Organized by the Club and Carreon Aguirre Village Homeowners Association, this whole-day event offered a loaded lineup of free medical and dental checkups, and procedures for the residents of San Bartolome. The highlight service of this mission was the free tuberculosis screening through the mobile x-ray truck of RC New Manila East which benefitted 100 patients. Further medical services included: 40 ECG screenings; 10 circumcisions; 15 warts removal; 5 minor surgeries; 115 medical and dermatology consultations; and 230 optical consultations. For dental service, there were 80 patients served for tooth extractions headed by our PE Dr. James Olayvar, DMD and his team.
The partners that participated in this mission were CAVHAI, RC Carlingford (Australia), RC New Manila East, RC Holy Spirit, and Interact Club of Timog Premier while the organizations that provided additional medical and dental manpower were PAPSD, PSLS, and PPAI.
RC Timog will be back again next quarter for its third mission.
