A LIGHT FOR HOPE
Illuminating Classrooms with Solar-powered Lights
On March 24, the club from the foot of Mount Makiling, traversed a trail by motorbike to reach Los Baños National High School Extension in Barangay Bagong Silang. Since its construction six years ago, the five erected classrooms made of wood, held classes without room lights and proper ventilation because of lack of electricity. The Team of RC Timog and its partners upon learning this, trekked the rough roads to install solar-powered flood lights and electric fans to the joy of the students and teachers. This project delivered immediate impact to the people needing comfort during classes under extreme heat. Up next will be the second part of our school rehabilitation program that shall include replacement of roofing and ceiling which unfortunately causes flooding and stoppage of classes. Again with this eye-opening activity, RC Timog vows to continue searching and lend a hand to communities in dire need.
