Project 5000 Eyeglasses: Bright Eyes for a Bright Future Optical Caravan
The Rotary Club of Timog-Quezon City for the month of March and April connected with various government educational institutions such as CHED, DepEd and ALS Department to provide free reading glasses to administrators, teachers, and students. This continuing club project aims to widen its coverage which in the past included medical mission patients from local barangays, male and female PDLs of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and others.
On April 11, 2024, RC Timog and its partners conducted its first ever vision screening and eyeglass-fitting (refraction) project at Pulong Santa Cruz Elementary School, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. This week-long project provided 60 grade school students with various eye conditions frames and lens of their choice, free of charge.
The Club will look for a second public school beneficiary in the future to continue this meaningful endeavor.
