The Quezon City local government unit (LGU) launched an artificial intelligence-powered tool in July 2020 called BantAI COVID, to monitor Quezon City residents currently suffering and recovering from the COVID-19 virus. Volunteer medical doctors and other health professionals share their time and knowledge to provide free teleconsultations. They personally contact registered COVID-19 patients to follow-up on their condition and provide prescriptions whenever necessary. If a patient’s case is severe, this is immediately coordinated and referred to an available hospital. RC Timog-QC participated in this endeavor through our Past Presidents Dr. Bu Castro and Dr. Benjie Tan Alonzo. The pro bono work of our club doctors helps patients in isolation and quarantine get needed medical information and attention in the comfort of their homes.
