AQUA RENEW: ROTARY’S COMMITMENT TO RESTORING ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER
(RC TIMOG’S DAY OF SERVICE PROJECT #2)
RC Timog – Quezon City conducted its second project of the day at Gulod Elementary School, Cabuyao, Laguna, about 2 kilometers from the Marinig Fish Port. The project covered the Area of Focus of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. For four years, the toilets and sinks of the pre-school to grade 4 wing were without consistent water supply. The Club upon learning about the situation and difficulty of requesting a simple repair budget from the LGU, immediately went into action and had the water pump replaced and tubings repositioned and replaced as well. The building now has running water up to the third floor, benefitting 411 pre-school, grade school students, and faculty.
